Donald Trump has opened up and discussed the shocking recent assassination attempt on his life during a highly anticipated interview with billionaire Elon Musk on X.

"I knew immediately that it was a bullet," the former US president said when reflecting on the moment which almost claimed his life.

"I knew immediately that it was at the ear.

"Because it hit very hard, but it hit the ear."
